I've got wood
The wood arrived today and I noticed that one of the 9mm sheets of ply seemed to be de-laminating in one corner. The rest looked OK and it is all very smooth so I accepted it. Later I noticed that one of the lengths of oak had a groove running along its full length but the guy replaced it with 2 slightly shorter pieces and told me to keep the damaged one which was very nice but there is nowhere else on the boat I can make use of any more hardwood. Oh well, I'm sure it will come in handy for something. Storing all this material was a problem and one that I'd not anticipated. But the oak went into the overhead racks along with the 15 x 95 softwood once I'd halved it. With a bit of jiggery-pokery I managed to get the ply into the other half of the garage (it's a double garage with a wall down the center and a joining door). Then I set about converting a sheet of chipboard into the shelving units which is probably the last job I can use to delay the inevitable.

In the news today from the BBC: The search is continuing for hundreds of athletes left stranded after heavy rain and flooding hit the Lake District.
