A little set-back I am extremely upset and angry. This morning, when I went out, I noticed that my garage door handle was in the unlocked position. When I went inside I discovered that all of my power tools have been taken overnight! Obviously I'd left it unlocked which, is very unusual for me (although I am getting a bit concerned about how many times I find myself walking down the street with my flies open!). I often lock it when I'm just going into the house for a cuppa (the garage door that is!). I doubt I left the handle in that position though, which means that some opportunist low-life tried the handle and got lucky. I wonder if they do that every time they pass my house? Police took the details over the phone and were only interested if there was any blood (for forensics) and whether or not the garage is a means of entry to the house. The garage is not part of the house and there was no blood so, they just gave me a crime number and told me that should satisfy the insurance. I won't be making a claim, by the time I've paid the excess and they've bumped up my premium I may as well just replace the tools for what they cost. They weren't professional tools, just good quality DIY stuff. One of the drills was almost new and the planner and the jig-saw were very good quality for home use. Oh well, have to move on. No point dwelling on it ... BAST*RDS! Index ----- | |
